Most clinicians are trained to treat trauma or substance use. Very few are trained to treat them together (even though they almost always show up together). This workshop gives you the framework, language, and practical tools to identify and treat the trauma underneath your clients' substance use.
What You Will Learn How trauma and substance use interact neurobiologically and clinically Why traditional substance use treatment often fails clients with unrecognized trauma How to identify trauma responses in clients who do not identify as trauma survivors Evidence based treatment modalities (ART, IFS, CBT, and DBT) applied to co-occurring presentations How to build trauma informed treatment plans that address substance use without re-traumatizing clients Ethical considerations when working at the intersection of mental health and addictions.
Who Should Attend Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (LCMHC) Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSW) Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialists (LCAS) Certified Addiction Counselors (CAC/CADC) Any licensed mental health clinician working with clients who have trauma and/or substance use histories
Open to clinicians nationwide.
Early bird pricing ends July 1st. Seats are limited.
